Abstract

Efforts to combat alcohol- impaired driving by appealing to the alcohol- impaired drivers themselves face obvious difficulties. Over the past decade, increasing attention has been given to intervention by those who are not impaired. This paper examines the nature and effectiveness of drinking driving intervention programs involving the peers and parents of drinking drivers as well as those involved in the sales of alcohol.
