Abstract

An outline is presented of some problems related to the use of a mini computer to do more than one thing at a time. Solutions of these problems are discussed, especially with the respect to speed, one of the main objectives in the design of a real- time operating system. The scope of the paper is restricted to mini computers only, although much of it applies also to large computer operating systems (1).
