Abstract
Results of an inventory of completed research and studies on the use of alcohol are summarized here. First definition of problematical use of alcohol and the methods used for estimation are presented. The second part consideres the prevalence of (problematical) use of alcohol and its related problems on the different levels (national, regional, population, age). Part three presents the information of the demand for and the offer of professional assistance.
