Abstract

Passenger car braking regulatings promulgated by the United States (FMVSS 105-75) and various European countries are studied in terms of incompatibilities in brake proportioning that derive from the requirements in the regulation. Analysis shows that the European regulations require a larger forward bias in proportioning than the United State regulation. Computer simulations were used to predict differences in performance.
