Abstract

Purpose of this study was to determine whether top-speed-limiting devices can perform their intended function, and also be accurate, durable, safe, tamper- proof and inexpensive. This volume describes the research activity for this program which was divided into three main categories 1) analysis of top-speed limiter requirements (function, safety, control accuracy, tamper resistance, durability) 2) review of existing speed-control devices, 3) development and analysis study of top-speed-limiting concepts.
