Abstract

In France and in Europe, ITS assessment methods have known a recent development in mainly within research activities. Even though the related knowledge has increased, theoretical methods remain difficult to apply in practice, therefore new tools and recommendations should be given to field engineers. The experience gained through more than ten years of research show that concepts such as user acceptance, and system transferability still need to be addressed in more depth if ITS deployment is to be supported.
