Abstract

The position of cyclists and moped riders is a particularly dangerous one. Together they account for more injuries and casualties than occupants of cars. The majority of these accidents occur with cyclists between 8 to 12 years of age and with 16 and 17 year old moped drivers. A literature review is made on accidents, behaviour skills and attitudes of these groups of road users. A course of action for the development of educative programs is outlined.
