Junction and roundabout design (1990-1997).

This issue of Current Topics in Transport includes over 75 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles on the geometric design, layout, specification, modelling and safety aspects of large, small and signalized roundabouts and crossroads, T and staggered junctions in the UK and overseas. Specific topics covered include capacity and sight distance, entry treatments, signalization, effectiveness of roundabouts in accident reduction, and safety of vulnerable users such as cyclists and motorcyclists. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1990 and 1997. Much of the relevant English language literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) database.
