Abstract

A collection of 17 papers is presented, which deals with various aspects of junction design, viz.: selection of rural junction types, economic evaluation (assessment)- environmental costs of alternative types, conceptual approach to the design of complex junctions, traffic conflicts, the use of simulation for the estimation of highway capacity, design programs and methods, interchange earthworks, slip road cross-section and quantities program, recent developments in computer graphics accurate photomontage, the implication of design speed, the SNUFFEL program for optimised read alignment, and the MOSS method of specifying terrain surfaces.
