Abstract

Aspects of three major research studies concerning accidents occurring a samples of four- arm roundabouts (84 junctions), four- arm single carriageway urban traffic signals (177 junctions) and single carriageway rural T- junctions (300 junctions) on main roads in Great Britain are described. The objectives of each study were to investigate the characteristics of accidents at the junctions to give insight to accident problems and remedial measures.
