Abstract
The biggest potential to improve the safety of motorcycles and mopeds is the improvement of driver instruction in schools. Improvement of illumination and reflectivity of clothing and crash helmets are good preventive measures. This is also true for devices for simultaneous braking and for looking prevention. Crash helmets, protective clothing and energy absorbing vehicle components will help to decrease collision damage. Vehicle inspections are also necessary in view of the numerous defects especially on mopeds.
