Abstract

An analysis is made of the daily flows at each site, the percentage composition of the traffic, and the amount and distribution of daily travel. It is estimated that 25 per cent of rural roads carry fewer than 10 vehicles per day and only 11 per cent carry more than 1000 vehicles per day. Results also suggest that devoloped and developing countries have a similar asymmetrical distribution over their road systems.
