Abstract
The main purpose of the research is to get an overview of and an insight into the existing measures and activities in the field of the improvement of safety in the environment of the child. The research is limited to the children from 0-14 years old. The environment of the child is divided into: traffic; dwelling; school; playgrounds; child centres;other institutions; water, beach and swimming pools; sport and recreational accommodations; and farms. Organizations in the field of traffic safety research are listed. A summing-up of research into child safety research is given, and some recommendations are presented.
