Abstract
The purpose of this literature review is to sort out one or more essential points of the diversity of publications on children and traffic. Emphasis is laid on the behaviour of children; their perception; the child as road user; the education of children for being active in traffic; the purpose of traffic education; the improvement of traffic signs; regulations for vehicle drivers when crossing a pedestrian crossing; and recommendations for improving the traffic situation for children.
