Abstract

By an investigation of 230 real pedestrian and 127 real two-wheel rider traffic accidents was shown that the knowledge about typical injury models of pedestrians, children as well as adults, provides in connection with aggressivity analyses of the vehicle exterior criteria for the optimization of the vehicle outside with the aim to reduce accident consequences. Measures have to start at the most aggressive vehicle element and followed by development of an optimal vehicle front geometry.
