Abstract

Road traffic accounts for a high and ever increasing proportion of the air pollution in European cities. ATT-based strategies designed to solve traffic problems have the potential to reduce this environmental burden. A set of appropriate tools (e.g. models) and methods is however essential to evaluate both actual and potential air quality improvements. The project aims to provide a common set of such tools and methods that can be widely applied throughout European cities. Major emphasis is given to city requirements, bringing together the experience of six cities involved in the projects SCOPE and QUARTET. (A)
