Abstract

Pedestrians often have to wait for a red traffic light when no traffic is approaching. This is the main cause that one out of two pedestrians ignore the red light. To meet the wishes of the pedestrians experiments were carried out with an orange flashing warning light in stead of the existing red light. A pilot study in the city of Delft must show if these experiments should be continued.
