An expert system for traffic safety uses a ""knowledge-base"" for the interpretation of the ""databases"" in which accident data and the characteristics of roads and traffic are stored. Computerized procedures are developed for detection, diagnosis, and remedy. The procedures will be based on what is known about the relationship between accidents and the characteristics of roads and traffic.
