Abstract

This paper is about matching of transport networks and segment oriented base files for integrated policies of transport and physical or urban planning. Many different types of segment based maps and transport networks are to be found per region. They differ in source, map making and coordinate referencing systems. More and more it is felt that a common standard is necessary. New programs have been developed to create a base for the interrelationship between Geographical Information System (GIS) and interaction modelling. In addition to some specific digitizing models, a specific matching program has been developed to match various types of maps. The program has a graphical interactive user interface. It also provides a basis for the exchange and aggregation of data of segment maps and transport maps. The paper describes the new developments and their application for the city of Apeldoorn.
