Abstract
This report consists of a general introduction to the use of micro simulations in predicting the effect of government policies, a discussion of the need for data bases and a general introduction to the technique of statistical matching and the main methodological problems and assumptions that are involved. (This introductory part is in Dutch). Appended is a report (in English) on the results of an experimental matching carried out between the two halves of a single survey - that is aimed at evaluating the quality of a merged file in terms of the resemblance between the constructed and the original correlation structure between the relevant variables.
