This cost-benefit analysis helps road hauliers to select profitable measures. The calculations make distinction between measures that aim at reducing the number of material damages and measures that aim at reducing the number of casualties in crashes with lorries. With regard to the first group, the damage prevention programmes and in-vehicle computers are discussed. With regard to the second group, the blind area mirrors and cameras, side protection, and front-and-rear protection are (among others) studied further.
