Abstract

The rolling noise of standard and special car tyres was examined on roads with varying textures and on an inner drum test bench. The analysis of the range of noise confirmed various mechanisms producing noise in the frequency below and above 1000 Hz. The low frequency noises can be minimized by reducing texture depths, the high frequency by constructing open- pore road surfaces.
