Abstract

Road traffic safety depends mainly on the reliability of driver performance, which is defined as the ability to estimate correctly and at the right time every single road situation by choosing an optimal travelling speed. Study results obtained by a psycho-physiological laboratory in the U.S.S.R, especially founded for research driver reliability in different road situations are discussed.
