Abstract

Approximately 90% of the information given to the driver is done by the visual way. The darkness is one of the main factors of the fact that accidents occur three times more during nighttime than in daylight. Much can be done for a visual assistance by the augmentation of retro-reflectorized materials on signals, vehicles, pedestrians obstacles, cyclists and lorries. Some examples are presented.
