Abstract

Safety factors of special importance to motorcyclists are highlighted. Although road holding, braking and acceleration properties leave nothing to be desired for motorcycles, more attention should be paid to the reduction of noise, since motorcyclists rely more on their ear when riding than car drivers. The maximum speed of 50 km-h for mopeds is a sensible measure, a lower maximum speeds would increase road hazards.
