Abstract

Review of full-size automobile intersection collision experiments indicated that the vehicles involved in a collision may be considered as a rigid body and most of the kinetic energy loss during the collision is absorbed by the crushing side of the struck vehicle. Deformation is mall compared with overall vehicle dimensions.
