Abstract

The purpose of this research study was to investigate the lag and gap acceptances for drivers entering and crossing a major roadway from a stopped positiono The study was performed at right-angle intersections formed by two-way, two-lane urban streetso The data were collected by means of a motion picture camera. In addition, two other methods, one developed by Raff and the other by Bissel, were considered in this evaluation of driver behaviour at stop-controlled intersections.
