Abstract
The performance of 653 Philips lamps, some of which have been operating satisfactorily after some 30000 hours of use, on 19 km of classified U.K. roads, is described. The lamp life performance is given in a schedule form. Lamps made by other manufacturers have not proved so reliable. Results included in the report show that the SON/TD linear high pressure sodium lamp was far less reliable.
