Abstract

Traffic density build up following a lane blockage on a 4-lane freeway carrying low-density traffic is determined for several different densities characterizing the freeway. The time, for the traffic to return to normal after the blockage is removed, is also calculated. The traffic density build up following a lane blockage on a 4-lane highway carrying high-density traffic has been considered.
