Abstract

Results are presented of a research into non-auditive effects of road traffic noise on the cognitive, physiological and socio-psychological functioning of school children from 5 to 12 years. Field experiments into noise effects are mostly aimed to measure the hindrance in special situations of the there present sound level. These experiments are aimed at the subjective experience, but in some field tests behaviorial observations are taken into account. Non-auditive effects are mostly measured in psychological laboratoria. In this report a method was used which combined the two research methods.
