Abstract

The usefulness of the traffic information depends strongly on the qualityof the underlying data. Generally, traffic information is generated by distributed traffic systems through many processing steps. Unfortunately, ineach processing step, data may get lost or get corrupted. The DA VINCI application, as described in this paper, is a recent achievement, which is proved to be highly effective in improving the traffic data quality. Furthermore, it contributes to reduce the costs of maintaining traffic systems significantly. This paper describes how DA VINCI can be used to improve thetraffic data quality and help achieving other operational benefits.
