Abstract

The "Learn & Live Youth Strategy" is aimed at pre-drivers and learner drivers. It is based on findings from the Australian Federal Office of Road Safety (FORS) as well as results of extensive market research to establish a better understanding of the "mind and mood" of Victorian teenagers. The aim is long term reduction in the youth road toll by: (1) reducing deliberate risk-taking behaviours; (2) increasing levels of pre-licence supervised driving experienced; and (3) research young driver behaviour. The method used is described.
