Abstract

Three grossly different approaches to learning and instruction have been discussed. The presentation of these approaches could suggest that they have little in common, and that there is no alternative but to choose for one and forget about the rest. attractive as this may be, it is not fully justified. In the applications of these divergent theories, the approaches appear to have more of a reality in common than is apparent from the theory.
