There is a relationship between the way of living and the use of public transport. To verify this hypothesis a study has been carried out based on the theory of Pierre Bourdieu. Following this theory there are two stratifications in the society, which have their roots in money and education as the sources of prestige. These are the motives for an economic and a cultural way of living. This paper shows a clear correlation between public transport and a cultural way of living, even when other variables such as age and having a driving licence are also considered.
