Leichtbau steht im Focus der Zielsetzung fuer alle neuen BMW-Motorraeder. Die erfolgreiche Umsetzung dieses hochpriorisierten Projektziels setzt die konsequente Erarbeitung und Anwendung eines methodischen Vorgehens voraus, dessen Haupteinflussfaktoren erlaeutert werden. Wegen ihrer besonderen Wichtigkeit werden die Phasen des Produktentstehungsprozesses sowie ihre Vernetzung beschrieben und hervorgehoben, wie sich der Zielwert Gewicht bezueglich Bedeutung und Absolutwert durch diese Phasen hindurch entwickelt. Der Vortrag beschreibt dazu die Systematik der Zielwertbildung. Die Ablaeufe innerhalb der Entwicklungsfachabteilungen beginnen mit einer Kategorisierung der Bauteile, um die Loesungskonzepte auf der Prinzipebene systematisch aufzubauen. Basis der Weiterentwicklung ist die Messung der Betriebslasten und die Ermittlung der Lastdaten, mit denen Simulations- und FEM-Modelle beaufschlagt werden. Besondere Bedeutung kommt in diesem Zusammenhang der Korrelation der Ergebnisse von Messung und Berechnung zu. Es wird ein zweistufiger Regelkreis beschrieben, der bei Zielabweichungen im Rahmen der Bauteilentwicklung zum Tragen kommt. Ueber die beschriebenen Entwicklungstools und Ablaeufe hinaus werden weitere Erfolgsfaktoren genannt, die wichtigen Einfluss auf die Umsetzung eines anspruchsvollen Gewichtszieles haben. Im Vordergrund stehen dabei die hohe Prioritaet des Gewichtszieles, die Verbindlichkeit der Zielvereinbarung, die personifizierte Verantwortlichkeit und die Infrastruktur der Projektteams. ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: Lightweight engineering is an overriding objective on all new BMW motorcycles. Successful implementation of this top priority project target requires consistent development and implementation of a methodical approach described in greater detail in this paper. The various phases of the product creation and development process as well as the network connecting these phases are described and highlighted in greater detail on account of their particular significance. A further point given particular consideration is how the weight target develops during these phases in terms of its significance and absolute value. In particular, the paper describes how this target is formulated and developed in a systematic process. Operations within the development departments begin with the categorisation of components systematically revealing the various solutions and concepts in terms of their underlying principles. Ongoing development is then based on the measurement of operating loads and the development of load data for subsequent simulation and FEM models. The correlation of results obtained in measuring and calculation processes is of particular significance in this context. The paper describes a two-stage control circuit applicable whenever targets in the development of components are not reached in fall and therefore require further scrutiny. Over and above the development tools and processes described, the paper presents further factors crucial to success, all of which have a major influence on the achievement of the weight target. The focus is on the overall weight of the motorcycle as a criterion of high priority, the need for binding targets, the personification of responsibility, and the infrastructure of the project team.
