Abstract

Safe bicycling cannot be learnt in the classroom. Bicycling is a practical ability and it is only learnt by training in all kinds of known and unknown traffic situations. Attention is being paid to traffic by schools. Lessons are given on theory about different kinds of traffic modes, relevant traffic rules, the responsibility of the road user, etc. But they are only useful if the theory can also be trained in practice. This report presents a big number of examples of abilities and situations which can be trained by children under supervision of their parents or school teachers. (see also ST 961667 VID)
