Abstract

Attention is paid to activities of freight transport in relation to road safety. In a period of economic deregulation of the road freight transport, it is very difficult to speak about effects of the process of stimulation, in the form of penalties or rewards, directed at reducing the level of lack of road safety concerning heavy traffic. On the one hand, there have been few systematic studies into this subject, especially in terms of description and evaluation of actions that have been carried out. On the other hand, the problem presents itself in terms that are specific for the freight transport. It is pointed out that these terms will be developed here.
