Abstract

In order to estimate the effects of road surface evenness and macrotexture on vehicle fuel consumption, three practical experiments were carried out: 1) in the laboratory on a vibration bench to simulate unevenness, 2) on a test track to reproduce extreme macrotexture values, and 3) on normal roads. The usual testing methods were used to characterize the carriageways.
