Abstract

The Leyland Lynx single deck bus is the successor to the Leyland National. It consists of a range of models with build levels varying from a partly assembled chassis to a fully assembled bodied bus. Local assembly and bodying were important design considerations. The background of the Lynx project is discussed and the design and prototype build phases are described.
