Abstract

Serious occupant injuries from 1) head impacts with A-pillars, roof headers, and roof side rails, and 2) occupant entrapment and roof intrusion in rollover accidents are described. Two less frequent causes of injuries 1) fires in crashes and 2) occupant ejection through the roof and rear window or rear doors are also discussed.
