Abstract

Serious occupant crash injuries from: 1) head impacts withg-pillars, roof-headers, and roof side rails, and 2) occu-pant entrapment and roof intrusion in rollover accidentsare discussed. Two less frequent causes of injury: 1) f iresn crashes, and 2) occupant ejection through the roof andrear window and rear doors are also discussed. Potentialfor reducing the severity of these injuries are presented.
