Abstract

This work deals with a series of road casualties, admitted to a neurochirurgical centre, among which alcoholism has been determined. About 40% of the casualties have an alcohol percentage superior to 0.8%. These figures are by far superior to those indicated on the accident registration forms and which are at the disposal of those in charge of road safety and of the judiciary authorities of the country. Close cooperation between authorities in charge and medical corps is indispensable.
