On- line estimation of platoon delay.

Abstract

The operation of an area traffic control system can be improved if platoon delay, queue lengths, journey times and other performance indices are automatically monitored on- line as an integral part of the system operation. This paper identifies delay as an appropriate performance index for system evaluation.It proposes a scheme by which system performance can be monitored with stop- line detectors.
