Abstract

A non-linear finite element computer program for imperfect plates and shallow shells is extended to encompass cylindrical shells. The program is tested against known solutions for a number of linear problems. A series of non-linear problems is also analysed and the results are compared with alternative theoretical solutions and experimental results. (Author/publisher)
