Abstract

Consideration is being given to the advantages of linking traffic signals on main routes. An experiment was carried out on linking five adjacent intersections. Checks on travel times, volume distribution and delays suggest that the reduction in delays on the main street may be less than the increase in delay to side road vehicles.
