Abstract

This report provides a review of community consultation techniques used by various road agencies in Australia and overseas. The review addresses the definition of community consultation, the purpose of consultation and its phases and describes methods and techniques for providing, sharing and seeking information. The review concludes with a discussion and recommendations regarding relevant approaches to the development of a community consultation process suitable for identifying levels of service for road maintenance activities.
