Abstract

This paper presents the results obtained to date from the "LLOT" project whose aim is to incorporate sewage sludge in materials used for road bases or sub-bases which ensure that elements dangerous to the environment are bound and which have some minimum characteristics that make them suitably resistant for road surfaces. Recycled aggregates, hydraulic binders and additives are also being used. The result is a range of materials whose uses are similar to those of quality concrete (H-200), poor concrete (H-100) and gravel/ground cement, all with a leachate far below tolerable maximums. (A)
