Abstract

Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) schemes are often introduced to overcome the problems generated by the form of road network in the area. The original networks were designed without identifying the problems with the previous generation of designs and it appears that current changes and LATM's are proceeding without identifying the safety problems that exist in Local Areas. This paper examines the types of accident in Local Areas in Metro Melbourne.
