Abstract

The production of a database for in-vehicle navigation and digital cartography presents several unique challenges with regard to information management. Providing comprehensive coverage of an entire country or countries is especially challenging given the detail and the dynamic nature of the data. The presence of a nationwide field staff provides several advantages in creating and maintaining an accurate map database. This paper discusses the various means through which a local field office provides information for the development and overall integrity of a nationwide database. (A)
