Abstract

Off-airport terminals are processing points for air passengers. They are located off the airport and connected to it by some form of collective rapid transport. The purpose of these terminals is to relieve congestion at the terminals of large hub airports. They would also relieve some access congestion. The location is formulated as a geometric programming problem which can be solved. Continuum approximations are used to solve a number of simplified cases.
